Chicken for lunch, with steamed asparagus and stewed rutabaga.


Mother was rather sharp today. Needed no prompting. Even beat us at rummy.

We rushed her off a bit. Mary and I needed to get to the banks for deposits before 3:00 pm. After getting gas at Walmart, we shopped for odds and ends. A big rain came as we were checking out. Had coffees in  Subway till it let up. I spotted Mrs. Bill Spence on her way out.

Seeing and smelling all the food made me hungry. Ate as soon as we got back home.
